There should be a sticker on the floor of the hatch with the paint colour name and code (this is probably not the case with Swallowtails...)

The colour, to me, looks more like Lago Blue (one of my favourite A1 factory colours) but that doesn't make sense as your car was made much earlier than Lago Blue is listed.

Did you get 75/6 from the build plate on the top of the core support/slam panel?

Good progress btw, I think I like where this is headed.

      Hi Jace

looked in the rear, no paint sticker

Relay not sure of the colour could be Lago Blue or Whisper Blue.

The AU compliance plate states the car was compiled on 02/1976 so the colour really is a head scratcher

The car is definitely a factory colour the paint is too good for in not to be, even under the carpet inside.

      Help!!!

One more picture with a closer look

The more little bits I see of this car, the more I want it! Look how good that stock paint is!

You could always get the colour scanned by a paint retail shop, or if you have access to a paint/panel shop just colour match it by eye (takes a bit of knowledge though)

I know it's all about DIY (and kudos to you for that) but getting a qualified spray painter to colour match you a few liters might be your best bet if you can't get colour tester chips.

sweet ride mate! ive had a color match done before for a yellow color
came out spot on and was well worth it, but with a bit of research you should be able to find a color code
          somewhere on the net

some of the early australian cars were painted in dulux colours, they had a little tin plate with the code stuck on the front support next to the compliance plate. looks like it's missing if it was there but might be worth looking into those colours? progress looks good!

MINT swallowtail. Nice work, mate. Only just spotted this thread!

The early 76ers were built in Aus and painted in Aus too (obviously), from what I know. I would imagine it is a Dulux colour as mentioned previously. I am not sure what colour that is but I may be able to ask a mate if he does (or Jace can.. 'cause he lives closer ).

Nice work mate. Pity I didn't see this earlier. I could have offered you Weitec coils.

Let me know if you want to sell that auto box and all the gear (floor shifter, cables, mounts etc etc). I will most likely take that bad boy off your hands.

Are those RM's from ebay at $1000?

If you copy the [IMG] code from photobucket, you can just paste it without clicking the little picture tab, you're doubling up on the HTML codes.

I wouldn't mind that auto box for my car actually...

Yeah look, not going to lie, i suck at this MK1 game right now. Used to second hand mods being impossible to find on the r32. Will have to learn that eBay can actually be used for one of my cars now! :O

Thats the Autostadt in Wolfsburg right? Awesome. I spent a whole day there in 09. Looks like they've rotated the cars on exhibition since then... Great shots!
