It will work but don't let the authorities see you, something about towed weight can't exceed towing weight.
I once towed (with a tow rope) a Holden HQ panel van behind my 1963 Austin Lancer. The Austin had a very worked MGB 1800 and would pull 100 MPH in 3rd, don't know what it would do in 4th, never tried. Towing the HQ was easy, even up hills.
Braking was a different story. Lucky the brakes on the HQ worked well.
How come the trailer doesn't have mag wheels?

Don't worry folks, I didn't tow that lot very far.
It's just the way the cars were ordered in my driveway it was easiest to use the Golf to reposition the trailer.
I never would have been able to stop that lot at the bottom of my very steep driveway.
Somedays it's like Kingswood Country here. Move the Bora to get Ziggy off the trailer and White turned around so the trailer can be rotated before white goes on, Ziggy parks up, Red parks up Frank is relocated for next weeks commuting and the Bora is backed up to the trailer.........
