i do remember it had audi front and rear seat , rears with head rests and very nice interier , very sure its a kr , sport springs , mk2 gti brakes ect.... not sure of the gearbox , yes 5 speed , but varient not sure of ... will keep all posted soon , shane

Congrats man. I got a 4dr mk1 GLS 1.6L carby the other day. The guy said it was a 1.8L but rego papers say otherwise. Is there a good website that shows the differences between each engine and how to tell the difference?

Have a look at the top radiator pipe where it goes into the head. On a 1.6 it's between 1st and 2nd cylinders (counting from the front of the engine). On a 1.8 it's between 2nd and 3rd.

yeah, radiator hose goes between the 1st and 2nd cylinder, counting from the left when looking from front on.

spewing, missed out on 200cc lol doesnt matter, i'm going to change the engine anyways..

4 hours up, 2 hours back. Shouldn't be any problems (but carry a tool kit, fan belt, spare plugs, dizzy cap, radiator repair kit and lots of Wagon Wheels or Tim Tams).

Can't do a long drive without chocky biscuits.

And congrats on the find. 16v in a MK1 is such a sweet ride.
