    Thought this was pretty Cool.

Found it in the New golf when i was cleaning and rewiring behind dash.

just remembered it today so thought id google it,

    Arbeits-Anweisung
    Google Translate

Not sure if this is correct or not, but it seems pretty cool. a Check list for the workers on the car maybe?

So, have always wondered what the little tag next to the compliance plate on rad support is.

From what i can tell its the build date and production number.
first 2 numbers are the week it was built, 3rd is the day of week (unsure when the week starts, still searching.. guessing monday?)and the last 4 are the build number.

Also Found this in relation to the small tag next to compliance plate.

"- Now let's check the color code, if you see the 4th picture, you will find a plaquette in which are printed these sequence number:
    252 - 0733
    D5 2 0

252 plannig date prod and/or production date: 25th week of 'solar' year 1978 2nd day of that week. --> For ISO and EU means 20 June 2978. For US just one day before: 19 June 1978!!!! Almost 1 month from production to import and to the final customer!
0733 733th car for that day (not sure but some other experts think so: some kind on sequence serial number inside the production plan/day)
D5 --> Brochure Code (check one of yours, to confirm that!) for Dakota Beige original color.
2 0 ----> Don't know (may be production plant ..etc..)"

Or it could be something simple like the number of laps each worker thrashed your car around the block before delivery.

WOW, that is cool it is the old school version of the options on the car.

The modern ones are not much different.

Maybe you should order a birth certificate?

        LMAO!!!
I did bit more reading, few other people have found them.
That get stuck to the top of the glove box when built.

People complained of a "rattle whistle" noise around that area and most got removed.

Its cool to know anyway, if i worked it out right, my car was 'born" Monday the 15th of January 1979
