You only say that because you have a 2 door.

4 doors are more proportionate.. And you don't have to put folding seats in them.

I'm running it 2 seater now anyway But my reason for having a Mk1 is not for practicality.. its for looks.. and In my opinion, 2 doors look far better.. And if you look up nice mk1's on vortex or demon VW etc.. most of them are 2 door - even though they are harder to find.. Its cause they are cooler!

You've been into VWs for 5 minutes and you think you are an expert. Quite amusing.

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. I stuck with my 4 door way back when because everyone wanted to do up a 2 door. It's just trends.. Trends change. Better off doing your own thing. And if your own thing is a 4 door, i say have at it and enjoy it. Better to have a mint 4 door than a rusty 2 door after all.

4-doors for the blokes. Diesel ones for the tradies.

Little boys and girls can keep their two doors.

GRN_VAGN: The picture of the Golf in your avatar is a 2-door, just saying...

Besides, there are definitely more things the 2- and 4-door Golfs have in common than not. I think if you own a mk1 Golf that's very cool regardless of the size of the cutouts it has in its chassis to accommodate the differently sized doors/windows

Personally I prefer 4 doors, but that could be because my 2 door as too many holes in it. In saying that 4 doors are a lot easier to work on in the rear.

It's all a matter of sexyness.

Guys with 2 door MK1's are sexier than guys with 4 door MK1's who are sexier than MK2 owners.

Sorry but that's a well known fact and you can't argue with facts. Unless you're gay.
