The Factory team were running a Zenith injection system.
I have a scan of the original 1981 magazine story on their prepping the cars for competition. It was kinda my inspiration to build the MK1 as a rally car.

Hey Ant, your car has a Mk2 UK spec Kjet engine, with a G grind cam and a Close ratio 5 speed from a Mk2 Golf 1988ish. Should absolutely scream with a bigger carby....or two

wooo, just took her for a razz and loved it.
although, its not quite as quick as bens mk2 so itll need a lil more work.
                  exhaust next i reckon.
but yeh, strewth it roars around now, sounds animal.
                  and gets the looks.
twin carbies = two thumbs up from me.

haha, already got the cam upgrade golfman, thats why im so keen on gettin the exhaust next so i can really see what she can really do.

as for the pic dave, here she is

prolly get some socks for it next week, i could only source 2 red and 2 green ones, thought that might look a bit stupid. lol
so ill probably get 4 red ones.

thats a pic from before i took it to the pro carb tuner (about 1 week old), they do look a lil better now, shined up trumpets and stuff.

but yeh, absolutely loving it. might have to take her out again this arvo

Would love to hear it running. (Nothing sounds quite like twin Webers or Dellortos doing their stuff.)
