Think of a breaker bar, its longer so you can apply the same amount of force as a ratchet, but cause its longer it applies more force easy. and less effort.

Same as the short shifter for golf, the longer that arm is, the less the gearstick has to move to make the box change gears

Nice one bro I made up a similar one but one piece for the old black mk1. Works a treat and probably the best bang for buck modification you can do to a mk1. With new gear shift bushes it works great

All Bushes replaced, even the one ball bit the gear shifter goes through.

Just wondering if i need to upgrade my Fuel lines from 1/4" to 3/8" for my weber upgrade.

My fuel pump has 3/8th nozzles, and ive used a adapter to get it back to 1/4"
Would this cause excessive noise from pump? cause damn its loud :O

Shouldn't be noisy just because you've stepped it down. Unbolt it from the bodywork and rest it on a towel then hear how noisy it is. Could be that it's too rigid in it's mounts.

Love the work you're doing. Can't wait to sell my MK2 and get a MK1 again.

                  Cheers

                    Ahhk cool,

Well i have a put dense rubber between the mounts and everything, there is no metal on metal at all... its no so much vibration noise, its just pump noise

Pump quietens when you drive, but gets louder again when idle

Not a whole lot more done,

Just been doing general tidy up since im still waiting on parts to arrive.
Cleaned up alot of wiring, hoses ect. gave interior a good clean, fixed the loose ashtray.
Door cards are made and put in, just need to cover them now... just wanted to make sure they fit

Painted the grill and front spoiler in satin black, but think i got a dud can, it came out glossy also did the door handles, didnt come out too great. but ohwell, overall the body is tatty,

The weber linkage setup arrived from the states, what a bargain and looks the goods too, just need to purchase a filter setup.

And this should be the last shot of it sitting in 4wd mode coilovers purchased and should be here in couple of weeks.. cant wait
