    im taking the front bumper off my rat project and painting the front matt army green (the rest of the car is mars red) and putting old chrome beetle indicators on it. not sure wat its goin to look like yet...might turn out really cool...ill put some pics up when im allowed to

          No its definitly iron filings,we saved it from the brake lathe for months and carefully applied it with lots of water,salt and rain.

                      Rust

                      Its not iron fillings.

                      We did it to my mates Mk1 a few years ago. all you do is take a sander to the areas you want to rust. (We orbital sanded the whole car) then sprayed it down with concentrated salt water every day for about aweek then just left it. Before you know its got a proper furry coat on it.

                      You wouldn't believe the attention it got all rusty, slammed on a set of Schmidt splits.
