Another day.. Another mk1 golf :)

Hey Y'all.. Been a long time since i updated this page! as i have bought a house and thus have no money to spend on the golf!!

Good -
Getting my bumpers sand blasted / repaired and then painting them black Also going to do the centre of my wheels black too cause it will look tough!
I have removed the rear seat and everything that goes with it... will be making up rear floor to flow from boot space to right behind driver/passenger seat so i now will be able to fit ALL my guitar gear in the car for gigs! No more having to take the wifes BAIN car. hahaha



I now have a House with a GARAGE! so the golf is undercover 24/5 (apparts from the 2 days where i drive it on weekends)

BAD -
Went to lower the car more on saturday - found that the rear coilovers are already as low as they can go!! Absolutely DEVO because they are great coilovers but the ride height is soo much higher than what i want it.. so if anyone wants to swaps for a cheap / JOM or Hottuning set - will be keen as.
All electricals that are important are dead hahaha - no wipers - no heater - no fuel gauge - no speedo - no temp gauge - no brake lights!! LOL so will need to get all that sorted out sooner rather than later!!
And parts of the panels are starting to de-laminate! so need to respray in the next 18 months or so..

Otherwise - bit of work to do so should start to get a bit more into it over the coming weeks..

Let me know if you have any solutions to the above mentioned problems!

considered drop plates for the rear? much cheaper than new coilovers.

Hi all though I d keep this thread going instead of start a new one about the same car

I own the car now and since buying the old girl I've put on weltek coil over and got the mk3 stub axles modified to bolt mk1 coil overs on them.
The plan for the car is a gti repo with a few extra bits and full repray in tornado red

Just wondering, what cv shafts where used in this?? I have a mk1 and I've put a 2.0 8v ADY with 5 speed out of mk3.. Do I need to shorten te mk3 cvs? Or will they bolt in!
