Did a bit more today.
Cleaned and painted the rain tray, along the top of the guards, rocker cover (fitted chrome nuts too) cam cover, washer bottle and under the bonnet. There was so much crap in the rain tray and under the bonnet it took ages to clean up. It would have been 1000times easier and better if we had our compressor! Dad did the painting btw.
I decided to paint under the bonnet gloss black, its really makes it pop in my opinion without being to out of place. I got autobarn to make me a can of L31B Mars Red for the rain tray and what was originally going to go under the bonnet but it was crap and came out prity flat. The color did match perfectly but i still need to polish it to get it glossy, my guess is they used the wrong thinners in the mix.
Oh and i got my crystal x-hairs this morining, it only took 3days from the UK :O. It arrived in Aus today at 1am and to my door a 9am. UPS FTW i guess.

The paint job looks excellent. Your engine and engine bay look so much better now that it's all cleaned up. I somehow feel the rocker cover should be chrome if you want it to stand out, but that's just preference
Without underrating your engine, I can't believe how small and simple your engine looks. You've done a marvelous job.

I was considering a chrome/polished rocker cover, can't find or afford it at the moment haha.MK1 GLS 3door

The wheels on the car at the moment are the 'road worthy wheels', hardly get used, normal size and maximum tread, offset for mk1 and 2 and the Polo aswell. I cant really rock up to VicRoads to get the engine number changed rolling on 14s et0 and 155/55.
BTW Got off my Ps the other day, feels good to throw them awayLast edited by Spyda; 24-01-2011, 11:12 PM.MK1 GLS 3door

hehe the tire is recommended for a 5 to 5.5" rim.
I reckon it looks sweet as, the stretch on the rear lets it have poke while still tucking the tire without scrubbing. The fronts are just the right offset and everything is the right size to get heeps lowz.MK1 GLS 3door
