most definitely not a street engine... that rocco in the states i'm talking about is a home build, but it's a dedicated drag car. on methanol it puts out like 170ish whp. but i dont think he rebuilds it unless it breaks
In this day and age word of mouth pretty much means nothing specially talking power and engines, before posting on any forum with this topic hard evidence is essential. But there is 2 sides to every story and the setup has not be listed as yet is it 2.0l ?? cross flow head?? no one knows, you can make good power numbers from a 8v 1.8 or 2.0 N/A, Turbo or Nitrous depending which path you choose will depend on what outcome. There are people out there with deep pockets and good knowledge but there is also dreamers
I built an 8v 1.8l NA with the works years ago for street use it featured
*0.40" oversize 11:1 compression pistons
*fully balanced bottom end with knife edged crank, ultra light weight flywheel
*schrick 282 degree cam extensive porting, polishing, match ported, 40.5mm inlet valves, 33mm exhaust valves, heavy duty springs, titanium retainers, adjustable cam gear.
*twin 40mm webbers, ported & polished manifold.
*custom extractors 4 into 1 with tuned length calculated to suit modifications, 2 1/2" mandrel exhaust straight through mufflers.
*electronic ignition etc etc the list goes on...
My point being with this engine on the dyno all tuned and carbies jetted by a reputable tuner specialising with webbers it put out shock horror 132whp... or around 160 flywheel hp at 6800rpm
240 hp is possibly acheivable but it would take deep pockets and would not be streetable...

Just to point it out mate, you're the one who looks like a tool with that last comment
I dont realy see the squabble and i dont see whos arguing either. It a common debate on just about every VW forum when someone talks about ridiculous power figures
Im not sure what you are talking about either when you say velly argues with everyone about everything.
