  • replacing the clutch

so it turns out my clutch is fooked... it keeps slipping whenever it feels like it, one day even to the point when going up a steep hill in anglesea it slipped so much i had to stop and turn around. now i can buy a clutch kit for $180, plus thrust bearing for $40 and get the flywheel machined for $40 which is $260 all up or just get it all done for $540. my question is though.... how hard is it to do myself? would be good to save a little cash because i need to get a front wheel bearing pressed at the same time.

Replace all the oil seals too while it's all apart.

There's a big one for the crank, one for the gearbox input shaft and a tiny one for the clutch push rod.

If you want to get organised I'm sure someone can loan you a flywheel as a changeover. I think I've got a few of the 190mm ones lying about.

Likewise with the wheel bearing, if you can get a spare tube, get the bearing pressed into that so you can swap it straight over.
