Buy a Mk3 instead.
AC thats not an afterthought, P/S, airbags, comfortabe, cheap and reliable.
Plus I see bargain ones everywhere.
Mk2s and 1s are getting pretty old now.
Great apart from the fact that you know you're driving a Mk3. Haha.
yeah man chuck a polo dash in or something, and the interior out of a mk4 make it nice and comfy.. but i don't reckon you'd improve on looks more than a mk1!!!!

Hey Mark, I work with dudes who drive new Porkers and they can't fathom why I don't buy something better....., but hey..the Mk 1 is bouncy (my chopped springs and poly bushes) I think it's quick (at least it sounds good) and at the end of the day...........I just love the look of the Mk1..........as much as I'd love a Mk3 VR6, a MkIV R32 or even my ol' MkIV 3 door GTI back.........none of them have the character of a Mk1 and just remember, think of it like I do...the kid's seats fit in the back !!!
