plenty of options you can do cheaply using std VW gear. G60 280mm discs with a girling 54 caliper will do the trick. you can buy caliper adaptors for $50 on ebay. Remember to upgrade the master cylinder to a mk3 unit also mate. a 9" booster will also improve the braking response.

That is the standard front end brake setup removed from my wrecked Seat Cupra. 280mm rotors. The rotors were replaced with near new pads as I recall not long before the car was written off.2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son
