You know you drive a Mk1 when it takes months of weekends to seal it up properly... you finally have it waterproof... then your heater core starts leaking and it's wet inside again anyway
when you have to stop after driving through a thunderstorm, open the doors and let all the water out.
Driving down from Townsville to Brisbane non stop and we drove through a tropical thunderstorm. You wouldn't believe how much water can build up in the rear footwells!

When you spend 5 minutes trying to open the boot of the boss's MK5. And still have no luck. Damn modern cars! How am I supposed to know that the VW badge is the handle?! Why not an old fashion lock that sticks and refuses to let the hatch shut when it's cold and damp, and you're in a hurry to get the hell outta there? That's MK1 living.
when you get a different noise coming from somewhere because im so much listening to everything !!! but you just have to relax and dont let it worry you coz it will get there
