  • You know you're driving a MK1 when you hit 100km/hr the side mirrors slowly start to tuck into the side of the car until they are flush with the window... (it has to be a feature for aerodynamics or something...)

          ... but having taken my work-in-progress GTi for the initial test drive on Saturday:

          You know you drive a Mk1 when you climb out with a massive grin from ear to ear and can't stop telling everyone about how much fun you had on said initial test drive...
          There is no Golf in my life. This is unacceptable...

                              That's a tough call. I've driven some pretty "cool" cars. Like a Mk1 escort with full race trim including mexico guards.
