anyone think the new ones (golfs too) look strange when the driving lights are cetral with the main lights as opposed to the old golfs where the driving lights are level with the tops of the main lights....

My caddy was an American import in the late 80's. When the dsl died in the early 90's it sat under a tree for 8 years and it killed the paint.I stil haven't painted it but like to play with the mechanicals the most( 1.8 8v, 2.0 8v. 1.8 16v, 1.8 16v turbo and finally 20vt. Luckily I stayed on the black stuff most of the time but the same can't be said for the Boxster that hit the tyre wall on the main straight- it's a hard track in the dry and a mega challenge in the wet.

        Caddy South Africa

        Hi Guys

I lovem them too, it floats around in South Africa like bicycles in SYDNEY. I am working to try and get a few old ones here, pre 89, i think you pay less taxes, etc..

I see if i can find a few pics of the ones in South Africa.

How much would you guys be willing to pay for one in good condition after 89 or a project one pre 89? that would require alot work..but then again we would have to import a few panels with it.

Don't you love it when someone puts their beloved exotic into the wall?
Once saw some guy rear-end his Ferrari 308 GTS into the tree that used to
be in the middle of the corner at Oran Park South that leads onto the main straight
Backbone chassis bent like a banana....

Apologies to the youngsters who don't remember that tree

They look good Zee, but they have to be pre 1989. Are there any cheaper rougher ones that we can get. Youd have to be able to get 2, maybe 3 in a container.
