So good to see a great car be in the ownership of a worthy and honest lad
drop around in it mik would love to have a run in it
history lesson:first time i met matt some 6-7 years ago this car was on stands and fully stripped ready for paintish and the rebuild, it was such an inspiring thing to see a bare bones car and all the work that goes into it, it definately pushed me to start my car to the degree it has now become
Just going through this thread and thought this was quotable.
So there was a bit of action today, the pulleys went in along with a CV boot and the mount.
Cam gear is now set at 5 degrees advanced and by oath it makes a difference - little sucker has heaps more punch from standing start and the power is much more useful in the lower rev range and this makes it easier to shift earlier into a higher gear and increase overall speed, where I used to get stuck high up in the rev band in a lower gear before.
FANTASTIC - so happy.
I'd almost say that is it for me and engine performance mods.
Refurb door cards
Install gauges in DIN panel (Volt, Oil Pressure, Water Temp) on way from USA
Custom intake pipe and breather diversion to catch can Alex will sort it
Further guard flaring/rolling Alex will sort it
New and stiffer gearbox mount
New front and rear plastic bumpers
Open single headlight grille just need to pick it up
Paint some components under the hood to tidy it up a little
Possibly remove and replace the tints
And attend to all of the rattles/rear end klunk.
But it's going to be a cheaper year than last I hope.
That's pretty close then. Apart from the stuff you're getting alex to do, you're not that far off. What are your plans for the engine bay? If you need mock ups, let me know.
My heart says yes, my multivan on order say I'd probably not spend on them right now.
I'll get your advice next time I see you on it John. Mainly a tidy up and respray the components that are currently blue to something more simple, say black.
