There is a Mk2 in Launie with no engine. The guy was gonna stick a sprint car engine from the US in it, but changed his mind. Apparenlty it used to be a show car at some stage. He purchased it off someone from Hobart.
Tidy Maroon respray at some time, rear discs, can't remember much else about it. Guy had $1500 on it but i think he would take far less than that as he wants it gone.
Don't have the ph number but the ad should still be in Saturadays Examiner.

the "series 2"...its actually a mk1...used to be a 16v, the motor is now in my Mk2 Driver. Ed Conacher used to own it.

as it looked before I got the motor from it.

wouldn't class it as a show car tho....
Advertised as a "series 2 golf"....... hmmmmmmm...rang about it ages ago thinking it was a mk2...but then realised what car it was. LOL

My old mk1 ended up going to devonport.
bloke has stripped it back and is rebuilding it with a 16v for motivation, so I reckon it'll be looking good again soon
yeah those wheels were sick as!
