Yeah, ah well, looks a lot better than my interior - mine doesn't even have carpet. Heard of a Mk1 that was garaged its whole life with a dash mat and was hardly ever in the sun but the dash still cracked. Pretty hard to avoid I reckon.

Haha cheers mate. Now you can watch my slow updates on the car . Indicators not working atm - waiting on a new hazard light switch. It's been sitting there for a while as it's a bit dodgy driving without them. Might try and fix the bumper tomorrow too. Love that above pic btw!

yeah looked great, bit pissed i sold it so cheap with those wheels, but oh well.
gotta love tinkering with electrics n stuff, i found when things didn't work it was often the soldering had given in.
would offer to help you out, but uni is actually killing me atm lol.
all the best with it anyway bruz

Hello chaps, I was wondering if anyone knew of any Mk1's for sale in tassie at the moment?

I'm looking for a good one, has to be auto, original, not mucked with or modified at all,

anything else, colour, number of doors etc... not too fussed with

Auto's are pretty rare down here mate, if you really wanted an auto it might be an idea finding a manual example and having it converted.
there are 5 door examples in the paper every now and again, 3 doors are pretty scarce but it'd be worth your while finding one.

good luck with the hunt anyway.

yeah man, sorry but i've only EVER seen 1 mk1 auto and that was on the mainland somewhere.. "I'm looking for a good one, has to be auto, original, not mucked with or modified at all" Dude, you'd have a better chance asking for someone to fly to hong kong and buy you a cheese burger, and be back before lunch time tomorrow!

sorry, but that is the reality of it.

yeah, I know they are pretty rare

mine caught fire, was the only auto mk1 I've seen locally, I'll keep a look out anyway,

                        thanks guys

well actually the week before I had a crash, some f*head coming down the highway near clearies gates in a caravan pulled accross in front of me, i had to crash into the barrier to avoid him, in the middle of the road to avoid him, of course he took off before i got his number plate

split my bumper, broke the light, indictors on the drivers side.

fire, unsure, it was under the dash.

I've since sold it to the scrappers,

the hassle of trying to sell a car that isn't worth much broken, rather just be done with it.

Woo back in the mk1 game now
purchased a 77 2-door gls in orange, so pretty stoked to have another mk1.
Will take some fixing up to get it to how I want it, but will be well worth it
