  • Good on you Matt - look forward to seeing it on Sunday
    Great looking interior...

Can't wait to hear it either - an unrestricted 16v is hard to beat
    Louder than mine?

    • Thanks fellas.

I actually bought it on 21st 8th 2003 for $50. I found the papers today
So only 4 years Al! Too long though....

Yeah I reckon its louder than yours Ian. Still need to get some smoke throug the exhaust, sounds raspy atm.

              Oh, I gotta hear this
Since you know what mine sounds like, I was using it as a yardstick,
not that it's obscenely loud... (still, people notice...)

I'll bet that people look around when they hear you comming
With twice as many valves there to push stuff around, must sound great...

                      • Had a bit of a go at this thing recently.

The motor has never been right, so it got pulled apart to make sure.
Found that the rings were stuffed and the valve springs were very weak!

Whilst it was apart, I got the head match ported and skimmed and polished

Then I got my hyper engine builder Beau to get into it.

He had it all back together this morning, after another crazy alnighter and we spent a while tuning it and making it good. Very hard to tune kjet if you cant rev the car. Still bedding in the rings so cant rev it.

Took the opportunity to swop the mags, for some I had lying around and to put the front splitter on. I actually mounted it an inch higher than normal, so it looks the part, but doesnt scrape everywhere.

Drove it round the block, more soon.

A crap pic from my phone. Better one soon
