i was down at pickapart today....and spotted a Golf mk1...
she looked like a bunch of wolfs went though it.
yeah same thing here. went out to pick and pay less for parts for my brothers mini and while he was scavenging i went for a wander and came across the only mk1 in the place. it was tucked away behind a bunch of beetles and a type 3. i'm pretty sure it was a diesel and it makes the one "16v_kid" saw look a lot better!
i can't recall as i wasn't actually looking for them but there is a possibility...your in Melbourne anyway so it doesn't matter

i remember that car when it was first put out months ago. from memory it had a petrol motor in it but it could be a different one. were there any mk3's out there by any chance????
yeah it could be the same one. it may have been a diesel with a petrol conversion as jarred said. the diesel part can be supported by the fuel cap saying "diesel fuel only" but i barely looked in the engine bay...just glanced past it...
there was a car in front of this and to the left which i think was a mk3...but it wasn't in a very good state so was hard to tell, sorry...you can always call up and ask and i'm fairly sure they can tell you...
Finally scrapped this Mk4 today. Seemed a shame to let it go without being photographed as it was so epically smashed.

Has anyone been down to the Volks Parts farm? I might head there next time I am visiting the family.
Yes, when we fitted the zorst to the MINI. It's pretty damn cool. Now that I have a more vested interest in making a visit I am keen to go out for a gander myself.
