there should be a fuel line from and too the take, as well as a breather that connects up to the carbon canistor and air pump system, i'd say its the return or breather, but it's too hard to tell from the pic.

check the carb wether it has a fuel return line going to the tank, and see if anythings connected.

ta, so this should be hooked to the carb somewhere? will it be fine like this or will it attatch to the weber somewhere, havent had a chance to look for spare plugs on the carb

I've heard peop both run and say both "you don't need a return line", and "you do need a return line"

Personally, I'd run a return line. there should be one of the carb, not to far away from the inlet line.

fuel line set up

from the fuel pump on the front of the engine block, the line comes up to a tee piece , one branch of the tee goes to the carb ( for a stock solex) then the other side of the tee goes to the return line. You possibly could put a small restrictor in the return line to lower the return delivery rate, however the smaller return line size also does this to a certain degree.

If your intending to run a different carb set up, then you may need to alter or even disconnect the return line.

havent had a chance to check it out yet, although there is no t peice in the fuel line on mine so someone must have just deleted the return in the past for a reason i guess. both the stock solex and the new weber seem to run fine though without the return so will leave it for the mean time.

anyone know of a good weber dealer locally? half my linkage worked loose and spat off on my way home from work last night so the peril will have to stay in the garage for a few days.

would like to get something sorted by next weekend so shout out if you know of anyone. will give me a good excuse to do some things under the hood in the meantime.

Try Southside carburettors in Cannington.

9350 6677 think they carry weber stuff.

Dont bother ringing untill you have the carb model number tho.

Try an early Ford wrecker - Cortinas and Escorts had these carbs.

You might get away with just buying the linkage bits off a wreck.

Wheels came through this morning still no suspension though, this is how it sits at the moment





front wheels poke out alot more than i thought they would, whereas the rears sit nicely inside the arches with plenty of room. hopefully its not as noticable when the coilovers are on.

Way to pick a top wheel. straight to the top of the class!

Will look good lowered. What specs are they? and what specs are the tyres? I'm predicting you'll need to go a bit skinnier or maybe arch work if you want to go really low.

From factory, the rears sit in roughly 8mm more than the fronts. Don't know why, just how it is.

cheers dude wheels are 15x7 with an ET28 and theyre sitting on 195/45/R15 Yokahama rubber. will be down south for a few days so should get the suspension on over saturday providing it arrives in time.

then next on the list are
upgrading the brake servo
some new windscreen seals
doing something about my cracked dash, even if its just a mat
fabbing up some mounts for the roof rack
organising some other headlights

may aswell write the list here so i dont keep forgetting
