Looking good Stu. Can't wait to see the mk 1 actually done, especially if it turns out as good as the blue one!
one thing though. Personal preference maybe, but I would paint the central bit of the rad support behind the badge black. I think it looks better that way.

I actually quite like the white showing through; it gives it the 'ultra clean beneath the surface' lookOriginally posted by Water Boy View PostDitto... Will make the front just look that little bit better

I'll post more pictures over the next few weeks, which I'll spend finishing it off

After throwing a sizeable curve ball and selling off many parts, I can now report that this Mk1 is running and nearly done, and I am quite happy... Thanks to my mate Matt for sorting out my wiring blunder (!)
Some highlights are much carbon, Porsche red leather, and a 6spd gearbox mated to a rather serious engine
Pics will come as soon as the wheels are finished... because these are the best part!
I have a deadline of the 15th of November to have it on the road and registered, as I'm moving to Melbourne. Sounds far away, but by the time I wade through niggling problems (and various things break, as usual), I'll be cutting it fine
Looking forward to meeting up with some of the Melbourne crew towards the end of the year...

Woot for more mad VW's in melbourne!
look forward to more updates on the car, and eventually meeting you in person!
DOVW is around the end of novemember (normally) so it'd probably be a good place to debut it!
