I organised and threw out a lot of junk, got the place ready for motor swap fun.

Anyway, heres some photos of today’s progress..

            ^ clean eh?

^ new bits (except new motor, one CV joint and the cabby quarter vent window)

So, my new engine arrived today. needs a good clean before I start attempting to put it in.

Also looked at whats involved with installing coilovers, I am lacking parts and appropriate tools for the job. sucks to be me

yeah its a hard decision but meh, thats life.

Our wedding is coming up next year and I just don't have the time or money to finish the car how I would like. Nor do I have the mechanical skills.

                      Cheers

They drive awesomely. This means I can now have a little bank account and save up for the all illusive Mk1 GTI in mars red with 1.6 motor and red tarten seats... it will come dont worry.

                            Cheers all

The car is going back together starting today, who ever buys it will have one clean mk1 with new underlay, no more smelly 32yr old carpet smell either! mmmmm

In the 9 that I have test driven, only the 200,000klm one had a sloppy gearbox.

I love them. Now looking at a 182 Cup F1

The Clio Cup F1 edition was released to celebrate Renaults success in winning both the Drivers and
Constructors F1 Championship in 2005. It came bearing a specific model number (27/30 this vehicle)
and plaques signed by both Renault F1 Team Drivers Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella.
The F1 Clio Cup 182 was the most technically advanced Clio 2-litre ever produced. It represents the
pinnacle of the research and development that has gone into the Clio Renaultsport 2-litre since its
launch in 2000. The F1 has a specific chassis set up designed to optimise the handling of the car on
                                both the road and track.
The F1 is based on the Renaultsport 182 Cup with the following changes: Externally, the F1 is finished
in "French Racing Blue" and at the rear, the spoiler is larger than that fitted to the Cup and is the same
as used on the Clio Renaultsport V6 255.
The suspension is based on the Cup set-up, however the F1 has lower ride height (by 20mm) , stiffer
springs (20% front, 15% rear), re-rated dampers (+20% front, +10% rear), strengthened front wheel hub
                                carriers and revised steering geometry.

This is a hell of a lot of car for this price! The cheapest any insurance company would agree to insure it
                                for this year was $24,000.

I've just been given a company vehicle and whilst I don't want to get rid of my beloved F1, it seems
pointless to let it sit in the garage for the occasional weekend drive.

There's only 30 of these in the country and to that extent I've only ever seen one other F1 on the road.
The French Racing Blue colour (copied from their F1 Team Car) is an absolute head turner.

Full Log Book Service History, by Renault specialist. Spotless condition. Completely unmarked wheels. Next service due at 80,000km and rego is until Feb next year. Approx 60% of Km's have been highway use.

Call me if you've got any questions.

Come on, gotta sell the mk1 !
