It's a 1980 4 door GLD.
About a year ago I got an email from a chap asking if I'd like to have his father's MK1 for wrecking when they found him a replacement.
I'd long forgotten about it but they contacted me during the week and drove it over and dropped it off.
I didn't really expect much of it from the descriptions they'd given me but it appears to be entirely rust free.
Mechanically it's thouroughly worn out. Motor's got massive blowby, brakes are nonexistant and the shocks are shot. The interior is pretty buggered too. The dash of course is extensively cracked.
At this stage I plan to move all the bolt on panels accross to my own Mars Red MK1 pictured on the left below as there's no rust in any of them and the paint is in much better condition.
The diesel suspension will go into the race car as will the fuel tank.
If anybody would like a rust free 4 door shell or any diesel motor parts you should speak up soon.
The motor starts and runs but lacks power and blows oil out the dipstick.

I have way too many cars now.
