    Hey guys

Im from South Africa. Stumbled upon the forum while looking for some diy info for my Polo. Im quite a VW nut and a MK1 fanatic. As your'l might know the MK1 is still produced in SA. Having owned 2 i thought id share some pics

    My first MK1:
    1300 Carb
    36DCD down draught
14" CTI rims then 15" Lenso rims
    60mm Jamex suspension
    Diamond Headlights
    MK2 16 Front Spoiler

        no

i just sold the velociti last month for a 9n polo. was a tough decision but the polo is more of a family car. will be getting another mk1 soon and that will be modded just for racing

          Sounds like a plan!

I've always wondered what it'd be like to drive a new mk 1, compared to the origonal...

we also seem to have the same name,. you must be alright then!

its great boet, really solid build quality but more refined then the older golfs. The interior is also more sophisticated, so its a pleasant drive

you have a really great name

nice cars mate , can you still buy new replacement parts for them easily. i notice that they changed the way the grill mounts which is good considering how easily the old ones broke.

Welcome to the forum Jared. Any chance you could show us the interior? It would be interesting to see what a modern one looks like.

                  Thanks

You need to get them in as a low volume import so you don't have to crash test them and also have VWA hold replacement parts etc...

Surely VWA is similar to other car manufacturers in that as they have the full international database, they can order in any part you want as long as you have the part number you need?
Granted that VWA would charge you an arm and a leg for it though.
Oh and welcome to the forums by the way.

                              thanks alot

there are so many golf 1's around that parts are plentiful and price wise its about the cheapest to maintain.
