  • Where is my GTI?

I sold my 1983 white GTI to someone in Tassie about 5 years ago. NSW Rego GTI 083. Does anyone know where it is now and if it went to a good home?

    Cheers

    Paul

He did say white, and I dont believe it was Tim's campaign GTI (golfworx's)

I believe he bought his off a guy in SA, and the owner was one of the first people to know about the accident.

            Definately not Tims!!!
If its the one that I am thinking of, a young fella called Tom bought it?
Tom is living overseas these days and its sitting in his dads shed,. It now has a 2L single cam motor, the gearbox spat itself and we replaced it. He tidied it up a lot, did the suspension with Konis and Eibachs. It had an aftermarket sunroof, which caused a bit of rust.
Golfworx looked at it when he was down here earlier in the year.

If the plates were handed in, they could be reused on another car.

Sounds like my old car. Sorry to hear about the gearbox, worked great when I had it. Was a nice car, last of the Mk 1's, white with the black stripes down the sides, but did need tidying up.

Nice to know it's still around.

                      Cheers

It's not mine sorry. My GTI came from a family friend in Adeliade.

My GTI wasn't written off either.

I did fly down to tassie & have a look at that GTI after mine was smashed up.

Was in good shape, but also a little rough around the edges!

It needed a really good clean up!

More like a full resto. It did have some rust in it too.
