      • Thats sad Dom, if any Golf should have played up it should have been the Caddy.
I spose its one way to keep the odometer reading lower kms mate.
The Cad is dismantled and tomorrow the other motor will be fitted. It will then have to have the exhaust made.
Hopefully get some pics up later tomorrow

Glad to see the rarity made it home safe indeed. Certainly will turn the heads of thsoe that know what they are looking at!!(even at this stage, let alone once it's built).

            • Gotta beat Jarred Dom!! I put up the challenge and I have to get as much done this week before I reopen the workshop for 2009 next monday.
Windscreen out over the weekend and replace the rusted area.
No, I said it wouldnt be a long term project, I need to use it for work. Cant wait to get it registered so I can drive it.

Hey Schoona, thanks. The amount of people who blew their horns and waved or put their thumbs up on the road trip.
A few passers by at my workshop have stopped to ask what it is.
So far I have found a nickle and a dime under the seat.
My old Mk2 importhad a French franc. I leave these coins in them for good luck!!

                  • Come on Jarred, my progress will slow a bit when I get back to work proper.
Mind you, January is normally quieter with all the kombis out and about!!

                      • Have you seen the BFI drop plates for the rear of the Caddys?

At Black Forest Industries we manufacture performance parts for your VW / Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Mini but we also provide maintenance repair parts as well. Keep your ride on the road, make it faster, or make it look better than it did on the showroom floor!

Not exactly rocket science! Wouldn't take too long to knock up someting similar.

                        • Looks very straight forward Peter, With all the gear in the back of it coming from Sydney its backside was nearly dragging. Glad it wasnt lowered already!!
I might try the axle flip 1st and see how it goes. I am goin€g to try some decent rear shockers too. See "projects and restorations."
