  • Hooray!!! My 2 door Rabbit

As some of you know, I have been expecting my Caddy ute to be here for a while but it went missing somewhere between the US and Australia.
A friend finally emailed some pics of it last night. I havent seen any of it before so I'm excited now! It has been found now and should arrive by the end of the month.
Its a 1.6 deisel 5 speed at present.. Looks like a little rust in the pillars but its as straight as. The parts in it are for a couple of guys businesses. The front door trims look very 70s and different to any over here. The interior is apparently mint

Thanks fellas, its not going to be one of these mega dollar rebuilds, I plan on replacing the rabbit nose on it and fixing it up 70s style, that is 70s colour scheme, low as and fit the 9A motor. Some retro business signwriting, 70s style ect. The top rear section is going too. The drop tray is mint too apparently. It has the sliding rearwindow in it too as most have. RHD conversion will more than likely happen too as its going to be the work ute.
Clean, low and tidy, the K.I.S.S. principal.
Been a long wait but hopefully have it here in time for my christmas break.
It was sposed to be in a container sitting in Sydney ages ago but when it was opened up it wasnt there. A couple of VW 181 "things" were there only.
Its on the water at present.... (better be!!!)

                  Thanks Jarred and Dave.
Keeping it simple and it wont be a drawn out restoration.
When I start things I like to get them done asap.

i'm sure you'll turn out something really cool; those wheels are a great start is it having the full treatment with a respray etc or keeping the current paint?

                      Nice Andrew.

Sound's like you've got everything sussed out & know exactly which direction you want to take with it.

That's 90% of the battle won right there!

Keep us up to date with the progress.

P.S. Awesome work hack!!!! ha ha

Definate respray Mischa and more than likely in Savvanah Beige to keep it
70's style. Retro signwriting for the business too maybe. I want it to look tidy as though! Cant get it quick enough now that I have finally seen a pic of the thing!

So Tim, are you and Dom popping down over the christmas break? Accomodation here is available and some of the northern VW fellas want to catch up.
Be interesting to see how these "work hacks " handle around Baskerville.

                            I hope so.

But I don't think we'll be travelling down in VW's. Well, I don't think I will. The Calais is just way too comfy!

Will be good to catch up & shoot the breeze!
