(do any performance Webers fit the standard VW Golf manifold ??)
dont bother messing around with standard stuff, this engine is well beyond that.

Upgrade the whole lot. I see you've put an ad up, defiantly the right way to go.

what Jarred said, just go the whole hog and run the engine how it was supposed to be ... otherwise you should have bought a stock 1.6 8v

Think it depends on what airfilter you run on them, i know K&N make a low profile filter

                          • Yes the Diesel starters are the g-o. A mate of mine won't use anything but!

I can't wait for you to get the real carby for this engine. It's been so long since it's been opened up..

                            • replaced strut tops. (also made a tool do to so, go me)

also washed and waxed my wheels, brake dust was killing me.

neatened up the underdash mats, and installed a voltage gauge.

i need to lower the coils now though, cause the new strut tops have raised the car 20mm Might do the chassis first though.

                              • Finally discovered what was making those small but annoying scratches just behind the drivers door - the metal corner of my own damn briefcase!!!

Now I gotta work out the best way of fixing it - almost look like key scratches - long and deep enough to go through the paint.
