      • this is what i did yesterday, but never the less.

replaced the other rear wheel bearing. put the timing belt back on. vaccummed inside and cleaned out the rubbish. (from nationals still!) Replaced broken parcel shelf support. fitted windscreen washer hose.

also welded up a bit of a HD sump, for next oil change.

Don't know what I'll do today.

Yea sounds about right. If I had to do it again, it'd probably take me about that long. I'd also do a timing belt and waterpump at the same time though, whilst everything is out & what not.

Funnily enough, mine passed roadworthy with the busted mount.

                  • New Unifilter and carby clean...was about to do a few mounts but had to go collect an engine crane for later in the week. Also dropped my tyres and wheels for fitting and balancing. They should be ready tomorrow...provided they don't tear the tyres

                          • Finally got round to taking the front guard off and sealing up water leak (i hope ) while I was at it I fitted a new aerial.
Fitted new rear engine/gearbox mount and fixed an exhaust rattle!

4 out of 4! With no new problems! (I love it when that happens )

                            • Replaced the crappy, ever breaking, feeble Brazilian window winder handles with some steel ones.

Re-glued (yet again!!!!) the left vent window into position (finally) as it was only held in place with packing tape! Any one have any strategies for making the glue hold so that the windows are actually functional? I know a lot of people seal up the whole window, but is there a less permanent/irreversible way to go?

Next: find a way to get the car to a VW mechanic as it's overdue for a service and I work full-time.

one option is to replace them with cabby quarter vents, they are bolt through the glass, so there's no glue need. dont' know how to find a pair though .
