    theres always something..

yesterday - wiring to fuel pump was dodgy so that got redone,
today - realised that instead of half a tank which i had in there it read as high as the needle can go on the guage, so it was back in there to see what the float had caught on.
oh an chucked my fire extinguisher in, never know when thatll come in handy..

theres always something to do on them, keeps us out of mischief though!

I went to Strathfield and got a Jvc head unit for the girl. Nothing too expensive. Was too lazy to find an acc. wire so it is just hardwired in.

Shame the speakers I bought are too small for the holes in the door cards! :/

Replaced a starter motor, I think the extra compression killed the old one.

                  Painted it Red of course.

Pulled out rear seat to get ready for Sandown.

Cleaned up race tyres, They were pretty daggy after the last run, I must of had them a bit cold.

                      This weekend I:

                      - painted the grill and light surrounds matt black

                      - refitted the duck-bill with propper nuts and bolts (removing the cable ties that were holding it on - courtesy of the previous owner ) So now it doesn't tuck under the car when I do over 50km/h

I'm sure that these mods will give me an extra 15kW

Also fitted the second baby seat (rear facing), and the small Mk1 looks even smaller!

Still love driving it every day

finally after a 3 week saga i got my mk1 running right, by tinkering some more with the **** carb! replaced front wheel bearing, replaced the driver side rack and tierod end. got a wheel alignment. got 12 months rego.

its pretty much a stock mk1 with no more niggly faults......im lovin it! all i want now is some lowered springs and front swaybar, and i'll be very happy!

long list for me today. As I have always avoided electrics, I learnt much by experience today.

Removed existing single acc. High beam relay to low beam.

Added dual acc. Relay for high beam and driving lights - need to put a switch on the driving lights so they are not all the time.

Resprayed the centre console from silver back to black

                              Added clock and volt meter.

                              Installed fire extinguisher.

Next is to fix the rust hole in the bonnet. Never done bodywork either! :/
