MK1 Golf Project

Been driving past this on the side of the road for the past few months and it got the better of me as I was in need of a project.
Already got stuck into it and so far no rust...bonus!!
Plan is to get it painted first while I look at engine swap options, brakes etc. plenty to learn as this is my first golf.
Just need to work out how to post photos

A clean zippy driver. Possibly 1.8t, if I can't get a hold of a decent dash then I will be looking at dash swaps

I'll be following this one with interest; albeit probably gonna go in a different direction to my mk1 project.

Old man just sold his Mk5 GTI pretty cheap in Tassie, now that would have been a good donor.
