Pretty close - I once put 55.5L in my 55 litre tank, filled it right to the brim tho. The car hadn't stopped yet when I filled it, so there was some more in there still. (It happened because I believed the km to empty on the dash display ... not recommended! It said 200km when I left home, 100km later it is reading 0km remaining. I'll say.....reality strikes home as you say in the last 100km particularly in mine with a tuning box which indicates better economy at 100 than 80 and makes the maxidot figures a joke.

I've never run out of diesel, but as gldgti says, the fuel system in Golf and other 4cyl. TDI should self bleed. Just turn the ignition ON/OFF several times and crank the engine, it will eventually start, just make sure your battery is healthy and in a good state of charge. Otherwise you get stranded even if you carry the 20L jerry can to fill up, once you runout of fuel.Originally posted by Ryeman View Post
