  • Anyone running a DSG software upgrade on their TDI?

Just wondering if anyone has the APR or other DSG software upgrade on a stage 1 125TDI or any other motor and would care to share their thoughts?

not a TDi, but a TSi - i've got the Harding Performance DSG DQ250 Software Upgrade.
    good decision it was.

car is less eager to get to 6th as soon as possible while in Drive. its also less "undecided" as to which gear to be sitting in.
    slightly more quicker shifts.
sports mode is drive-able and fun now, specially when downshifting...omg!! never used to like/use sports mode before the dsg tune.

i've never had clutch shudder, but i hear its meant to improve/eliminate that issue.

Custom Code DSG tune on my mk5 103TDI. Huge difference. S mode is now nicer than in D. Shift points have been changed and red line increased. Smoother transitions between gears. Amazeballs. Couldn't recommend it enough. It goes hand in hand with the ecu tune.

          Hi buddy,

I've recently got a Viezu DSG Stage 2 installed and it is a fantastic tune.

Upshifts are sharp and direct, shift points are much more practical than the factory setup, definitely another option for you to choose from.

              Hi,

I had a DSG tune put on my Golf Mk6 103TDI 2 weeks ago and it feels like a whole new car.
It feels more eager in the lower gears, more oompff.

Hehe my favorite thing at the moment is when coming out of a slow roundabout and putting the foot on the accelerator. Man she goes!
It even feels different when putting it into sport and overtaking. Just extra smooth and nice.

No real change to power as tested before and after on a dyno, but I feel like it's just a tiny bit better on the ltrs/100km display but no noticeable difference in how long a tank of diesel lasts (but I've only had it for 1 tank).

I'm getting a stage 1 ECU tune done soon so looking forward to how that goes

I have a 2012MY Yeti 103TDI and have installed a DTUK CRD2+ which is spliced into the CR plugs only (no turbo link) which alone seems to now give me the power of at least a 125 with economy improvements as well.
It does however surge at times constantly, other times not, weird!
the maxi dot display shows ridiculously good economy .....(range + trip) but that doesn't agree with trip + fuel gauge.......
in other words range and fuel gauge don't meet reality.
What I want to do sometime soon is do a very long all day trip to see just what the range/economy truly is.

                    Just saw this.
We've been doing DSG tunes for some time now and because its all done locally in Sydney (and at times Perth) we can set the shift points and things like launch rpm and to whatever you wish. Torque limiters too of course.

How are you finding it after a few months ?

I think there is a Viezu guy in Brisbane that is the closest tuner for me.

Can they pull the DSG tube off/rewrite etc if the dealer changes things ?

How long does it take ?

If the dealer upgrades the file then you need to rewrite it however what we do and maybe some others is try and use the latest version of the DSG software so worst case all we have to do is reload the file, typically though they wil see the current version and leave it alone . Basically we give you a free upgrade which you would otherwise pay for if the car is out of warranty.
There's no reason why the other guys can't do this if they don't already and I'm pretty sure APR do

7 minutes tops to read and 7 to write although some places may just do the write via the OBD port once they've looked at the existing SW version number.
