If anyones interested in learning some self tuning stuff, I would recommend the nefmoto forums (good general guides there and lots of 1.8T/2.7TT stuff), ecuconnections.com forums, and also ecuedit.com forums.
Also theres a great youtube chanell with winOLS tutorials specific to VAG diesels

Flashed a "proper tune" to the car on Friday night. I havent done any logging yet, but if definitely feels different. Changes from the stock map are many - boost target, n75 map, drivers wish, gear limited injection qty, smoke limit maps, EGR maps and more!
tentatively... success!
when i say proper tune - i mean one where i mean to gain some power, rather than just what i have done before which was only boost control.

So I thought I might update this thread with some small updates...
Since the transmission failed and I had it rebuilt, I started thinking about getting a newer allroad.
Well, in the end I found a c6 2008 3.0 TDI allroad with just over 100k km on it with all the options... So we bought it.
I kind of decided then to sell the old one, but mo interest forthcoming after 6 weeks or sp, decoded to try and sell my golf instead.
The golf took basically a day to sell.
So now we have 2 allroads.

Why didn't your modified one get any serious offers, I wonder?.
Too many ks I assume, which is actually, in diesel terms, not all that significant.
So people spend big bucks on the diesel option for their economy but trade them before it has paid its way........doesn't make sense to me.
That logic doesnt really hold for this end of the market though ryeman... The c5 diesel allroad was the cheapest, base engine. And the 3.0TDI is the only c6 allroad sold in Australia.
I dodnt just not get amy serious offers... I got No offers at all. Not even an enquiry.
Buy my mk5 TDI, with 280,000km, sold no problem

Greg, if you javent driven a 3.0 TDI, go do it.
If i was going to buy again, I moght go for tje facelift model (2009+) because theu have slightly more power, but mainly because they jave a 60\40 torque split rather than 50\50
