The engine number is stamped on the engine block near the gearbox but the engines these days are so cram packed with crap that you only see it when you strip down the motor!....There is the front page in your owners manual should have a square white label stuck in there, also the same label in the boot under the floor mat..and it can also be seen on the cambelt cover on a small white sticker..should be something like BMR, BMN, etc....VDUB...(Hillbilly...lol...your country flag is NZ and your in Brizzy and its too cold!, wimp!)
