      1 a month on average....if you buy a diesel how come people just keep on putting petrol in.!! oh well some people cant be helped especially the ones that do it twice!!. new golf 7 is fitted with a valve so will only allow diesel nozzel to fit and wont allow petrol nozzel through...

          So how does that work given there are two different sized diesel nozzles here

          The ones on car pumps and the truck nozzles.

          Would be even better if they standardized the colour of the nozzles as different brands use different colours on them.

          I always look for the one with the catch and the slippery handle LOL

          Also its worse when you have two cars and only one is a diesel ROFL

            I am always paranoid about it given I have both Petrol and Diesel vehicles and am aware of the potential costs so double check.

            If it has an engine or heartbeat it's going to cost you.

              I believe firmly in metrics testing as part of being allowed to drive on the road.

              An un-named fleet company in Melbourne use these like lollies as their i30s keep being fed with the wrong fuel:

                    $700 a pop, provided you don't start your car . Filings in diesel fuel filter = call insurance company ASAP .

                      You can unscrew it if you're out where there are only large pumps - you'd just need to keep the install tool in the car.

                        Unfortunately (at least the Octy) can't take the high-flow hoses anyway.
