Apart from letting anyone know that the product is available, these threads are completely useless.
1. Fuel usage is different for everyone.
2. Every car is slightly different.
3. No one can tell off the seat of their pants if a car is 'faster' or not because they've used different fuel.
4. You'd need a PRETTY CONTROLLED dyno environment to convince me otherwise.

Negative.. they are guides, not completely useless.
1: Its either metro or country driving, stop start, or highway kays
2: Comparing the same models, slightly yes, majorly no
3: When you have experience, you know what your feeling, especially when those have been driving reflashed & modded cars for years n years. Besides, its not faster that you get, its more torque & pull, once again, experienced folks already know this.
4: Ive been on 5 different dynos up here, 2 of them give me the same numbers, the other 3 are close but no cigar.
Well, I dyno'd mine today and got 135kW/361Nm out of my TDI125.
Also, took off at a set of lights next to a vRS TSI DSG and he only pulled away once we got to a very decent speed... One that the boys in blue would not like.
Also have a BSI torque mount insert, but the difference with the BP Prem Diesel is very noticible.
Every tank now wants to go to 1,000km, too. With city traffic.
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
Not including hers...

1. Yes and some people feather their foot around the city and some people absolutely plant it.
2. Enough that you can't draw any solid/consistent figures, because once again, it relies on point 1.
3. Don't pull that patronising 'experienced folk' card. 'Feel' is completely subjective, if you filled a car with BP Diesel one time, then with Caltex Vortex and again with Shell Diesel and you did a blind test with an 'experienced' person behind the wheel, I'm willing to bet a lot of money that this 'experienced' person would not be able to tell what fuel was in what car.

4. Your point proves mine 100% valid.
I usually get between 780 & 820 klms, tank of the new stuff I got 872 with the same driving.
Feeling is not subjective when you have experience. It would be subjective if someone of the same experience or more, drove the same car & offered a different result to the first person.
You are only using the word patronising because youve been called out on your post. On Saturday I took my car to a mate so he could check it out. (wrx tuner, old Possum Bourne mechanic, so he knows torque) He confirmed that he too felt the difference between the fuels, minimal at best, altho its def there to be felt.
The thread if you havnt noticed is about BP ultimate. We compared normal BP diesel to their new blend.
How much was your bet? Whatever it is, you can forward the payment to me.
& my point 4 proves yours to be flawed lol .. I look forward to your next reply.

1. Yeah, some weeks I also get 780 & 820kms too, and some weeks I get 860km. And you know what? Same fuel. Different routes, traffic etc. The variables are endless, it's ridiculous. Just because you got 872km with a tank of BP Ult Diesel means jack ****.\
2. You completely ignored my point about the blind test. I couldn't give a rats how old, what sort of cars he fixes, tunes whatever. If he didn't know what was in the tank, he wouldn't be able to pick. The placebo effect is a pretty powerful thing.
3. Who cares if its between the normal BP blend and the Ultimate, in a blind test. You would not be able to tell the difference in terms of performance, and you wouldn't be able to pick which fuel was in what tank. You would have a 50% chance of getting it right, based on luck.

1: I stated "with the same driving"
2: Again (sigh) the thread is about BP diesel, not Shell, not Vortex. Your blind test & try to counter anything isnt working. He was told what was in it, then we put some of their normal cat piss in. I ignored your blind test line because it wasnt a blind test lol.. Did I mention, the thread is about BP diesel?
3: Blind again.. dear o dear .. keep digging, your next reply will be something about blind testing & Caltex right?
My guess is you dont like diesel or BP or the earth. Whatever it is, keep on trol, I mean truckin!
If some people like Caltex and some people like BP, I'm fine with that. Just because I like BP, I don't expect everyone to follow suit - to each their own. I'm sure the tribes can peacefully co-exist lol.
I finally get my new CC TDI today (for some bizarre reason it sat at the docks in Melbourne for other three weeks, waiting to travel *2 hours* to my local dealer and probably would have still sat there if I hadn't put a rocket up 'em), and I'll be sticking with BP for my new car (just because I want to).

The reason why I use BP is because VW recommend it. Also the oil they sell at the dealerships is Castrol with a VW logo on it, and it you read the fine print, it's owned by BP
Furthermore, a guy at a Honda dealership told me, they have a bloke who comes in to test fuel for warranty claims etc, and only BP use 100% of their own fuel, all other brands here are a mix.
Caltex Vortex isn't a bad fuel and I wouldn't not put it in, but that's my reasoning.
