Nope, it's a former model thing. Worry more about your High Pressure Fuel Pump!

          Hi Guys
I am so close to picking up my 125tdi.
I'll be heading to Melb for the F1 next weekend.
Is there a break in procedure I have to follow?
Ie travel at certain RPM etc

No, just drive it in the way you'd expect of some-one you loaned it to.

Probably the most important is to not let it labour in sixth gear, but in general the DSG won't let you damage it.

Aren't you supposed to thrash new cars to bed the piston rings in?

Worm it up gently (drive normally), after that, use spirited driving style don't red line it, you can get close to 4,000 rpm for a split second before the DSG changes the gear that's all. Once you done 1500 km drive as you use to. That's how the cars are run in in our family and we never had an oil consumption problem.

I use only BP fuel and Moreys Diesel Smoke Killer at every fill up. Enjoy your new car.

I would switch it off, you have to do that everytime you get in the car, it can't be permanently turned off with the button.

I disagree Miro, idling a engine to run it in is about the worst thing you can do! The less idle the better I reckon, leave it on, and head for them there hills!
