Maybe its just me but I struggle at times to see the difference between our rear spoiler and the GTi rear spoiler - it looks like such a tiny little addition that at adds 2mm extra length. I see it as the biggest waste of money. If I were to add a rear hatch spoiler it would have to be something that's noticeable different.

both cars run same hatch, with tiny spoiler and built in brake light. However the GTI runs an additional spoiler on top so it looks as if it's got a different one, where all it is, is a spoiler on top

I had a look at my mates GTI today and it seems that the actual 3rd brake light is not the same to our tdi models. They actually come off the bottom of the extended top spoiler rather than the normal boot spoiler that our tdi's have (please bare with me hard to explain haha) all in all the brake light is situated at a different part of the spoiler between models :S

I sold the Spec.B when I bought the Golf. Traded it plus cash My way. It was a beautiful car. So comfortable and the stock McIntosh sound system was probably the best I have ever heard in a stock car. Again, awesome to drive however being a 3.0ltr, it was a bit heavy on the hip pocket when filling up.
Finally decided to de-grid my maf. 10 minute job and the difference now is very noticeable, especially in the low range. Acceleration is way smoother and and the induction noise is more apparent. Quicker spool up also. A must do if you have upgraded your intake.

How do you get it off? Does it destroy the grid, or can you slip it off/out?

And yes I did notice a slight improvement in throttle response and an increase in induction noise. But...don't attempt this if you have a factory airbox. The factory airbox has a 90 degree bend that causes a lot of air turbulence and the grid is there to smooth it out as it passed over the sensor. If you remove the grid it will wreak havoc with the air flow sensor.

Found a forum member selling a DSG shifter from a GTI cheap cheap and I couldn't resist. Not only does it look the goods it definitely feels a lot more solid compared with standard T-Bar style shifter. Obviously not a straight swap as you would've seen with Adrian13's install.
Also wrapped my centre console with 3M 1080 Black Carbon wrap. Looks magic.
