I'll post more pics when I put the 215s on. 235s at this height had some serious scrubbing going on.

Think you'll fit 215's on those rims? from memory there was already some tyre stretch with the 235's.

Yes. They will fit with a little stretch. The 235s weren't stretched. Rim protectors make the wheels look like they are though.

Cheers man. I can't wait to put the new tyres on it and take some fresh pics.

                Are your brakes mk5 r32's or mk6 r's?
If you're going from 288mm up to 312mm then I agree it's well worth it. It's as you suspect just new carriers required to go to the larger rotor.

I did this exact upgrade on my Caddy workvan and the difference was chalk and cheese, you actually feel confident in being able to stop wthout ploughing into the car in front. I went with DBA slotted rotors and Bendix CT pads with braided lines. Increased stopping power with a noticable reduction in brake dust. My next thing to do when I can fit it in around work is to replace the rears with slotted solid rotors with Bendix CT pads for ****s and giggles and also to reduce the brake dust.

                Hi Forcefed

Your car looks very retro and minimalistic with the colour tone. Sorry to have hijacked your thread

They feel amazing compared to the setup I had before. Like I've mentioned I have them set to quite firm until I put the new tyres on. So can't really hammer around corners till the scrubbing issue is sorted.

Thanks again Greg. Will keep you posted.

                    • I'm lovin' this build, congratulations on a great looking car.

I need new headlights, could you tell me the model number of these?

Thanks a lot. Not sure of the model no. But if you jump on Parts4Euro they are the Hella Xenon Look and are RHD.

                          • A GTI rear hatch spoiler would be a nice addition, did this to my Golf, turned out well. Have you got a GT or GTI rear valance?

Not at this stage maybe later down the track. I'm still enjoying the bubble butt.

Maybe its just me but I struggle at times to see the difference between our rear spoiler and the GTi rear spoiler - it looks like such a tiny little addition that at adds 2mm extra length. I see it as the biggest waste of money. If I were to add a rear hatch spoiler it would have to be something that's noticeable different.
