Intake looks great, is it much louder over the standard airbox?

I had Miro (Transporter) come around my place today to tackle cleaning out the EGR. He really is such a nice and helpful guy. Champion.

Good work. I think the 2.0 doesnt get as clogged up In comparison to previous models (based on the pics ive seen). How difficult was it to get off? Got any tips?

I think the recirculated soot and crap is more of an issue than the oil vapor. Could be wrong though.

Do you have a provent ready to go on?

I got Transporter to take it off and clean it. Didn't take too long. My intake is pretty clogged and is next on the list to get cleaned. No Provent just yet. I am definitely considering it now after looking at that.



Am getting the above tune which will turn my EGR down to virtually zero. While it won't completely eliminate the sludge build up, it will slow down the process.

Here is the inside of the intake to complement the pictures of the EGR valve. The deposit is beyond cleaning on the engine and intake manifold needs to be romeved for cleaning, since it's good 5mm thick and I wouldn't want the engine to combust it.

Major update....






Had Gavin from OptimumCode come and do a CustomCode Phase1 ECU and DSG flash on my car today. Two words..... F#$KING AMAZING!

Car feels completely different to drive. Bucket loads of torque, pulls hard all the way to redline and the DSG shifts in D,S, and M Mode=Awesome

EGR has been turned down to virtually non-existent so that will definitely slow down the sludge build up and will slightly increase fuel economy.

I really cannot explain how happy I am with the tune. I have a grin from ear to ear every time I jump in.

I know it will only get better once the DSG has a few days to learn and adapt. Anyone looking into getting a tune should definitely consider CustomCode. Gavin is an absolute champion and a pleasure to deal with.

This is just my personal experience and I don't want to start a my tune is better than your tune thread. Cheers

Have you checked what version of Can-Gateway you have? You might be prone to battery drain if you don't have a Can gateway revision L at minimum. Hopefully this helps you.

What's next on the to do list?

Not sure what revision gateway I have but I have had the RCD-310 installed for quite some time now with no issues.

As for updates, trying to keep things on the down low until I have done them.

How are you finding the Custom Code Tunes? Have you considered colour coding the bumper & door plastics?
