  • T4 diesel injector pump

Hi everyone I was wondering does any one know is it possible to replace the seal that is between the main part of the pump and the last part that the injector pipes are connected to without disturbing the timing etc . We have a diesel leak and it seems ridiculous to pull half the engine apart just for a lousy seal . Thanks in advance for any suggestions 97 t4 2.4 diesel

    Hi there.

It sounds like you are describing the seal between the pump head and the pump body. Unfortunately you can't really replace this without pulling off thew pump and doing this on the bench, as you need to be able to move the governor/throttling mechanism out of the way.

      Diesel pump

Hey thanks for that Iknow that the pump has to be removed and the govenor but is it still as a mongrel job to do as some Diesel companies are telling me or is it something that can be done without having to do a major dismantling ie does it affect the timing if only the govenor and the end part are removed Thanks in Advance
