Making my own "racepipe" that still includes the important shutdown flap, in case of run away. You blow a turbo seal and start dumping oil ( fuel ) into the inlet with an Allard pipe, and well, you've got an out of control situation. Remember a diesel will happily ingest just about anything for fuel, and the fuel is the throttle.
    however unlikely, its true..... mind you, VW never bothered with the IDI diesels... and they had turbo's aswell.

      im also looking into something like this for a short term fix as my lovely Seat intake is showing signs of warping due to heat. this looks good:

      p.s. i presume the egr removal is part of the dpf delete software? how would you have done it if you had to do it manually/ without software?
      Nope, I WISH it was so easy, but I've had to add water meth to combat the potential hgher temps without it, and am still working out how to simulate the egr mechanisms so the car doesn't go into limp mode once it's all removed. Can be done, but it's not straight forward. There's also the potential increased NO emissions to consider, which in my case shouldn't get any worse.

              Before parking in the garage;
              Fill up the tank and put good quality diesel additive to protect from the algae.
              Block the inlet and exhaust so no moisture can get in.
              Jack the car up and put it on the stands so the wheels are not touching the ground.
              Connect the C-Tek battery charger to the battery (without disconnecting the battery). Unless the battery is Optima or similar in design (for starting the vehicle after lets say 6 months).

                          The TDI Tig has a DPF, yes? .... and that is not suited at all to sustained city driving ..... so add the cost of replacing that (and its not covered under warranty) frequently ..... and its expensive ....

                          Our Touareg has the DPF and driven in the city, so far it is fine I check the particle loading and don't expect it to be a problem (should easily pass 200,000km)

                          Sharkie, if you remember; what was your average fuel consumption before chipping?

                            Yeah I wouldn't go larger than 3" as well. Our Touareg 6 cyl TDI is 2.5".
