Perfect for the 1.9, but you'll need a way to prevent the car throwing error codes and dash lights. Few methods - chip tune, MAF twisting and Vag com it down rather than shut it off entirely.

    EGR is important for warmup!

ill VAG com it down, however this is a great solution and it gives me a little more power too!!

Spend your cash on the exhaust if it's burning a hole, or a front mount. Much bigger gains there, plus sets you up for future chipping, propane, nitrous, compound turbo's.

          JESUS!!!!

Josh, you know how you said you want 500nm? i read on uk-polos a guy with our car who had a custom tune (maybe by Jabbasport?) and he posted dyno sheets of 390++nm with just tune, SEAT intake + K&N filter (although that's a big no no according to guys on the club-stocko filter is best).

others who have gone past that, have done (in this order, i believe)
          -gt1749vb + small fmic
          -downpipe
          -pd injectors + clutch

i'd say that that is simply too much power for our little oilers, but then a potential issue with a tune, with our tiny turbos, is boost creep.

unfortunately the best way to combat this, is to go (for us) up to gt1749vb. which i will be looking at in a couple years

edit: but then pipework and mafs etc need to be taken into account. which is many more $$$. unless gt1749vb is a straight bolt on for our engines (as opposed to guys with mk4 golf alh's. im still trying to read up on this).

no point spending money on an exhaust for such a small turbo, im waiting until a turbo upgrade

I'll do the FMIC with the Powerpipe, i think its a good solution to the EGR problem. Opens up the intake aswell which I like

I think that the GT1749vb IS a straight bolt on, and if thats the case that will be my replacement turbo for sooty in the coming years.... Not sure I have the guts (or money!) to do the gt22(something something) off the Audi and BMW 6cyl TDI's

they sound like the numbers I want! By the time the turbo goes, I'll most likely need a new clutch aswell.

Also a cat delete is supposedly good for power increases, although illegal . So our best bet is prob a high flow

                i hear ya there.

i think the best thing, for practical reasons, would be to replace my 15 with the 17vb (i am NOT looking for more power, i just want turbo reliability and no boost creep..... the 180-190 horses are incidental....)

                hehe!

So talk me into selling mine!

You could always decrease the thermal load on your current, increase flows ( which both lower temps AND up potential power ) and increase the oil cooling to the one you have. Regular oil changes, and I can't see you having any major problems. A LOT of chaps on TDI club doing long term crazy shizzle with your engine in the good ol U S of A.

Yeh I'll prob get a 17vb next, as much as I'd love to do the big 22 I need my car on the road as my daily.

ohh well I guess i'll just have to settle for 200hp then
