Cheap option for heat soak - I saw a mod for water cooling spray for the intercooler. This link wasn't the one I saw earlier - can't find it. I think they used the headlight washer and redeployed it. Alternatively a cheap washer kit would do.

hmmm
i think i'll just plumb up the VR4 IC that i purchased, that should hopefully solve the heat soak probs!VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life

so, for some, that would mean bigger injectors + say, oettinger/ revo.
others are doing a power module (like your dpchip) + engine remap.
-both with significant power increases (say 130-140whp, if i recall correctly).
given that you've got greater fuel delivery already, then add say revo+downpipe+fmic, that should have you running somewhere around 120-125kw at the fly, perhaps? for less than two grand on top of what you've already got.... (not trying to dissuade you at all from a bigger turbo)
if you WERE to get bigger turbo, where would you get the map redone? or would you be looking to someone like revo/oettinger to get map done to accomodate fmic, turbo etc?
lots of interesting paths to choose from with the pd100
cheers

cheersid be well and truly happy with about 120kw at the fly! Ive read somewhere that the injectors dont need to be changed because they can flow 200hp?
im thinking i might try and organise a group buy (sometime next year!) for that FMIC set up from sth africa.... it comes to about $800 but includes all the ali plumbing and all the silicone joiners and takes all the fabrication work out of it!
who would be interested?

that fmic looks good, especially as it has piping and joins included.
im reading up abit more on intercoolers, im trying to learn more about 'end tanks' as the guys on tdiclub seem to be of the opinion that the forge and allard front mount intercoolers are NOT designed well, because of the end tank design. more reading for me, lol.

TDI's need much better IC than what the equivalent petrol models do as we pump much more boost through ALL the time!
i wouldnt touch my injectors, thats a big job to change them!VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life

2.5 sounds good to me, however the unlearned side of me keeps blurting "no, but we're on boost all the time so moar moar moar!!!' lol.
tricky, yet entertaining, stuff.

That intercooler kit has a long way for the air to travel, wouldn't it be best to find or make an intercooler that has the intakes on the one side to keep it nice and short so you get less turbo lag?
Though it might not have much loss due to the intercooler being more efficient.
Your exhaust should only be as big as the exhaust of the turbocharger is, nothing to gain from going bigger.
Changing injectors on a PD motor is easy compared to fitting an intercooler, it's just riskier.88' Volvo 760GLE

I thought that made sense, the exhaust side of the turbo where the downpipe goes, there isn't any need to make it bigger then the housing hole is, well maybe a little bit bigger, but not much, as that's the restriction in the system.
Unless somone can show something that proves me wrong to that as that's how I understand it.88' Volvo 760GLE
