  • Amarok 2012 TDI400 - laid up, Process to get it back on the road

Hey guys. My Amarok was laid up (battery taken out and most diesel drained) a half dozen years ago.
Just arrived back on Friday, to flat tyres and a missing battery.

I would love to know your opinions on just how I should approach getting this vehicle back on the road.

I ordered a new DIN88 battery today, but as I prepare the car, I thought it best to seek some expert advise.
Should I pour some fresh diesel into the tank and some anti-gel additive (you may know the ideal one to use), then how to get the old diesel out of the tank and lines?

Replacing the fuel filter after new diesel in the vehicle has been run through the lines?

Hopefully off to get a road worthy next week, then some fresh tyres.
