Hey guys just want to know if anyone has removed that big ass muffler on the back before the exhaust and put a straight through pipe
And ideas, suggestions, thoughts or outcomes ?
Thanks
If you had a downpipe wih a resonnator then straight through from there it would sound pretty good. LOUD!!!! But shiuld sound alright. Ive been think of making a straight through cat back for track days to reduce a bit of weight! but I figure I could never be ass' d fitting it!

I would not reccomend a muffler delete on these cars.
If anything a resonator delete or a smaller sports muffler would be better or you will get a lot of drone and noise that sounds terrible.
It is okay on a diesel or a smaller engine (1.2/1.4T) but not on teh higher output 2.0T
I had a res delete for about a week, very loud, cool for a few minutes but was way too raspy and created too much unwanted attention.
Long story short we initially modded a Golf R SPM DP to fit which required the res to be deleted to make everything fit according to the shop. After a week of no resonator I ended up going back and swapping the SPM DP for an APR DP, then fitted a new, smaller custom resonator.
Sounds great under WOT and those DSG upshift cracks...
Heaps of threads/youtube videos from the US guys on res and muffler deletes if you're keen to research
